Zink imaging market analysis has been spot on, and now the they boast of being the first company to be able to produce printers that can easily fit in the palms of a human hand, and clubbed with digital cameras and cell phones.
This latest inkless printing technology is implemented by using a new photo paper. When the temperature of the paper is increased, it changes color and this is how these printers work.
The chief technology officer at ZINK, Mr. Steve Herchen says that this technology has evolved over a period of 10 years.
He also adds that it is advantageous in many ways the first one being that we need not worry about the ink getting dried up.
The photo paper costs around 25 cents, but the important aim is to make the paper available everywhere.
The other important benefit with this printer is that it can be carried along easily as the printer is small enough to be embedded inside any portable gadget.
Any printer that prints with ink cannot do this as it has to give room for the inks, the printing head and all such stuff that the printer as a whole becomes a large substance. ZINK printers promise to eliminate that bulkiness.
