System Restore Service
This application does the job of restoring the system functions. Troubleshooting and fixing the problems in case a problem arises can be done manually and very easily. You can easily reinstall your windows if at all you have any serious problem. Generally, folks don’t find this particular application to be of significant use. It takes a lot of memory and disk space. So take this advice and disable it!
Portable Media serial Number Service
This application does the job of getting the serial number for any media player that is a part of your computer.
With the inset of iPod and MP3 players, hardly anyone is up to listening music in the system. Moreover if you don’t have a media player in your system that is completely compatible, then this application is of no use. So better disable it!
Computer Browser
It is an application that provides an updated list of computers present on the network and then this list is given to the browsers.
This application may sound like it is something very important but without this service also browsing of network can be done in the office and home users do not need it. So if disabled, it does not create any problem rather it solves the space problem.
There are in general three types of options found in an application. They are manual, automatic and disable. Manual is used when it is required. Automatic runs at the start only. Finally disable is an option that is used in case the application is of no use. So here some applications have been cited out that are more or less pretty useless, and can be disabled.
